Our purpose
The result: better patient outcomes, time saved, reduced cognitive load, and a safer, higher quality experience for clinicians and patients alike.
Every answer is grounded in Australian clinical guidelines. We never prioritise convenience over medical accuracy.
We design for the GP’s workflow, the nurse mid-shift, the registrar on call. Not a hypothetical, we look at the way they actually work in the real world.
We recognise that learning and practice go hand in hand. MedLuma redefines how CPD is earned in the flow of care, while our courses offer deeper, more focused learning.
Our ethos

The story so far
2013
Medcast is founded in Bowral, NSW, with a single conviction: that Australian healthcare professionals deserve access to the highest quality clinical education, wherever they practise. The platform launches with a focus on independent, evidence based CPD for GPs and nurses.
2018
Medcast enters a joint venture with NB Medical in the UK and begins delivering GP CPD nationally, accredited with the RACGP. The platform grows to tens of thousands of registered practitioners.
2020
The Australian Government engages Medcast to rapidly upskill nurses for COVID-19 ICU deployment. The SURGE Critical Care program delivers 400,000 hours of learning to participants across every state and territory.
2023
The team begins development of MedLuma, a clinical AI assistant built natively into the Medcast platform. Grounded in Australian guidelines and linked to accredited CPD from day one.
2026
MedLuma launches to Medcast’s verified GPs. Every search earns CPD. Every answer reference Australian clinical guidelines. The gap between evidence and practice starts to close.
